Practice match on Wild Marsh Lake
Last to draw and was handed peg 7 its normally a good area just 3 pegs down from the lakes flyer where a bar runs across the lake taking it from 6 foot to 3 foot I think it’s where 2 lakes dug into 1.
Finding a nice flat bottom at 16 metres making this my main line for Paste and a margin rig was all I set up. With the only baits on the side tray being 2mm Coarse Pellet and Paste made out of the same.
Just before the start I’ve rested my pole on the Otter fence and manage to hold the pole when 1.5 joules of energy was passing trough it which I would not recommend.
Match fished according to plan catching Carp and Skimmers steadily on Paste to amassing 40lb 10oz to come third.
Bites came after dumping large pots of pellet and waiting for bites usually 3 bites could had before feeding again.
Travelling home I pleased with my performance and was looking forward to next weekends team match but unfortunately on Tuesday Tony Rixon had to cancel due to 2 teams pulling out taking it down to 8 teams. This is really annoying as these Matches have an extra edge to them rather than the normal 20 peg opens. Hopefully more interest next year.
