Well after last
week good draw on Campbell Lake it back to the normal poor draws for this
series, Peg 82 on Cary. This peg is tucked in a corner with no lead chuck into
the middle of the lake where most of the Carp live during the winter.
This year the odd
carp has come out of peg fishing down towards the tree so this would be the
main line of attack plus a 16 metre caster line fished into open water, this
produce 2 Roach and a headache due to the bright sunshine and ripple.
The day was mostly
spent fishing down into the tree catching Perch on double Caster the Skimmers
moved in later and one lonesome Tench. It was best dumping a pot of caster then
lifting and dropping the rig the rig was fished on a real short line to be able
to fish right into the branches. The rig was a real finesse rig 4x10 to 0.18
with a 14 hook on a 0.16hook link and red hydro.
Carp didn’t make an appearance but Fred Roberts caught a couple from his margin
fishing back towards me, Fred fed his side of the margin more aggressively than
me he went on to win the section.
20lb 7oz of
Silvers for really enjoyable day fishing from a peg nobody wants and not
normally pegged in Matches.
Well done to
Frenzee South West Orange from West Wales for winning the
league the prize money might cover the fuel and bridge cross expensive but I
expect it won’t.
went to Viaduct owner Steve Long showing everybody that he fish as well as run
a fishery but I don’t think he would done it from my draws.
